I've done all sorts of planning for the coming season: identifying key pieces to complete my Haedrig's-provided initial build, how I'll adapt it for early speed(ish) running, what gems I want to focus for early speed running into solo mid-level farming into eventual solo pushing and solo group running, what items will be most important and difficult to get so I can target my Kadala gambling as I go, etc. Other than Rainbow Goblin (aka RBG) farming, planning for the coming season - scope out Rhykker's tier list, see what you might like to play, watch some videos of how that build plays, review some builds for it, figure out what the key items are, etc. Any substitution that gives up even half your damage in favor of more speed is worth making, as difficulty has no bearing on goblin spawn rates, only legendary drop percentages, which don't matter for the wings.) If you do pick it up, take the time up front to scope out the best farming routes and really optimize a speed build for maximum speed (damage doesn't matter all that matters is raw speed. Mine was marathon-watching through It's Always Sunny in Philly on the side while grinding.
That said, the task is grindy, so highly recommend setting up some alternate entertainment you can semi-passively enjoy on the side while you do it. I've been at it the past couple of weeks, greatly expanding my friends list and picking up some people I'll wind up grouping with during the coming season. Put together the fastest speed running build you possibly can, join some Rainbow goblin farming communities and join the Rainbow goblin hunt! It's pretty grindy but the reward is the dopest, most sought-after cosmetic in the game, the cosmic wings.
